Join Us on our Island Adventure

Stand out from the crowd, and hopefully others will stand with you

Welcome to the first post of the Innovator's Island Newsletter. This publication is here to help teachers in Ashland High School come together to explore and share innovative practices, research, and thoughts on the future of education. All are welcome.

Our goal is to pull together teachers who are highly interested in being active innovators. From grading, to classroom organization, to curriculum implementation, and whole-school impact ideas, we are here to learn from and help push each other forward.

If you are interested, or curious about how you can get your classes into the AIC, we will also be exploring those opportunities and making a clear pathway for the upcoming school years (and for whatever is possible this year.)

Step 1 - Please take this brief survey on Classroom Innovation.

Step 2 - Join the team!

Step 3 - Attend Innovation Team meetings which will be held during regular faculty meeting times, when approved by administration.
Being innovative can feel like being the lone person on a Caribbean island, lonely and still awesome. We just want to get rid of the lonely part.

  1. I think this sounds very exciting. At heart I am an innovator but I do not always get to use it. This is a chance to do so!

    1. I think at heart, many of us are innovators but don't always have the time and supportive team to make things happen. It can also get overwhelming quickly if we don't take small steps toward larger goals.
